This document contains the privacy and data protection policies of Gruppo Cartorama s.r.l. It is meant to describe as accurately as possible how we process the personal data of our website’s users and visitors, as well as of our clients, suppliers, mailing list recipients and all the subjects with whom we do business.

This document is furthermore a privacy policy statement pursuant to Art. 13 of Italian Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 for the subjects whose personal data we process, in particular for the users of the services offered by our website.

This policy does not apply to any other websites that may be visited through our links, for which Gruppo Cartorama s.r.l. is not responsible.

The following information is also inspired by Recommendation no. 2/2001 by the Group of European Authorities for the protection of personal data, adopted on 17 May 2001 and derived from the former Art. 29 of European Directive No. 95/46, which concerns, in particular but not exclusively, the collection of personal data on Internet, and aims at identifying the minimum actions to be taken towards the subjects involved in order to guarantee that these practices are honest and lawful (as per Articles 6, 7, 10 and 11 of European Directive No. 95/46).

Personal data controller

The “Controller” is responsible for the personal data collected through our website or on account of the supply of our services and, in general, all kinds of personal data processed by Gruppo Cartorama s.r.l., based in Via Durini, 27 Milano, Italy.

The rights of the interested subjects

The subjects to whom these personal data refer, as per with Art. 7 of Italian Legislative Decree No. 196/2003, may, at any moment, ask for a confirmation of the existence of such data, and to be informed about their content and origin, to check their correctness, or to integrate, update or amend them.

The subjects whose data are concerned are furthermore entitled to request that all illegally processed data be deleted, made anonymous or blocked, as well as to forbid, for legitimate reasons, any processing thereof. Place and purpose

All personal data relating to the web services offered by this website, as well as the data of clients, providers, mailing list recipients and, in general, all the subjects with whom we do business, are processed on the premises of Gruppo Cartorama s.r.l. based in:

Data are processed exclusively by employees, partners, consultants of Gruppo Cartorama s.r.l. that were appointed and put in charge of processing them, or by any parties occasionally put in charge of maintaining electronic and IT equipment.

Personal data provided by users requesting services, as well as by clients, suppliers and mailing list recipients and, in general, by all the subjects with whom we do business are used to provide the services required, or to fulfil contracts or perform legal duties, and may be transferred to third parties (including overseas parties) in charge of performing services, on the basis of specific assignments received, such as, for instance: legal and contract consultants, IT consulting companies (exclusively limited to the needs deriving from operating programmes and IT procedures), company auditors. Such data may not, however, be transferred to third parties, except if required by law or if strictly necessary to fulfil contractual obligations.

Any industrial secrets shall be processed exclusively by employees of the GC or by foreign correspondents and only if necessary to perform professional services.

TYPES OF PROCESSED DATA 

Navigational data

The IT systems and software programmes managing this website acquire, during their normal operations, some personal data that are an integral part of Internet transmission protocols.

These data are not collected to be associated to identified subjects, but could for their very nature be elaborated and associated with data held by third parties to allow user identification.

These data include IP addresses and the domain names of the computers used to connect to our website, the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of the resources requested, the time of the requests and methods used to submit the requests to the server, the size of the file obtained in reply, the numeric code indicating the state of the response provided by the server (processed, error, etc.), and other parameters concerning the operating system and the environment adopted by the user.

Such data are used for the sole purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information on the website use and to control its correct functioning, and are deleted immediately after being processed.

Such data may be used to investigate responsibility in case of information crimes against our website: except for this event, contact data are usually stored for no longer than seven days.

Data submitted on a voluntary basis

The optional, explicit and voluntary mailing of electronic correspondence to the addresses listed on this website implies, in itself, the acquisition of the sender’s e-mail address, which is necessary to answer his requests, as well as of other personal data included in the e-mails.

We kindly ask our users not to include names or other personal data of third parties in their requests for services or questions, unless they are strictly necessary.

Data concerning other categories of subjects (clients, suppliers, mailing list recipients) not collected through our website.

Cookies are textual elements transferred into a computer’s hard disk only if authorized by the user. If authorized, the text is downloaded into a small file.

Failing to do so may however result in the impossibility to fulfil obligations or contracts or to provide the services required.

DATA PROCESSING PROCEDURE

Personal data are processed on paper and/or with automated equipment, for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes they were processed for.

Specific safety measures are applied in order to prevent data loss, their illegal or incorrect use and unauthorised accesses.
